Hi,
While i am glad you received my review on iTunes, I really did not appreciate your dismissive and defensive response to my concerns. I was going to revisit my rating once the mono/stereo was resolved. As to not noticing your podcast in-between the two stereo shows, I lost that episode in a malfunctioning new iPod and didn't go back to get it so I didn't notice it. Never assume what you think someone else knows.

I still believe that some of your APB reports are far too long. I am sorry that you only get to talk on podcast days and I enjoy some chit-chat about life and things. I believe, in my opinion, that on occasion you go far too long. Almost every other show of this type can complete the banter in 5-15 minutes. On occasion you have far exceeded that I just fast forwarded to the next podcast. I was quite taken aback that you would simply tell me to just go somewhere else for my news. I drive a truck and reading is not as handy as listening to podcast's but maybe next time I will give it a try. Again, never assume.

So my criticism must be more constructive? OK, if you have to put out a podcast still in split stereo, announce that at the very beginning of the show. I understand that you do this for the fun/love of the show and if I can't hear it because time was an issue and you want to get it out to service the most people in a timely manner, I can wait for the next episode. No sweat. I believe that you should simply tighten up the APB segment. That may mean cutting some of your discussion from the finished podcast. Its not that I don't want to know who my podcast friends are, I enjoy some banter in every podcast. Just understand that everyone's time is precious and I commit an hour of my time to listen to you discuss and recap Castle. The Castle part is what brings me to your podcast.. You inferred (incorrectly) that I want to hear spoilers. I actually enjoy the recaps the most and listening to your discussions of what happened in each episode.

Please understand that if I simply hated the show and you I would just quit listening. By issuing the review it was intended to provide you an indicator of a very real fan with some very real concerns.Your dismissive response was worse than if you just said it was just one person's opinion and been done with it. Walking through why I was wrong simply hardens my position. I also am in the public arena and cannot be dismissive of critics of my work. A rule I live by is to write down my reply in Word and come back the next day and see how much of a jerk I came off as. then I throw it away and rewrite the response in a more sympathetic tone. No matter how hard someone is on one of my projects, I understand that if they took the time to write me they cared enough to make the effort and I can't afford to dismiss them. There are enough people that simply write me off and I never hear from that if I have a chance of swaying an opinion I have to take it.

I have already taken down my review on iTunes as I post this (iTunes indicates that it will be removed within 24 hours). You have all my concerns in front of you and I don't wish to penalize you on iTunes. I hope you understand by this gesture that I really do enjoy the show and you two together. I have made a criticism and it is up to you what to do with it, after all sometimes the critics are wrong and only you know the answer to that.

Hi Guys,
I've just discovered your podcast on iTunes and wanted to listen from the start, but the first podcast listed is #24-Wrapped up in death. Just wondering if podcasts #1-23 are available somewhere?
Thanks, Susan (Australia)

I recently caught a movie on Starz, which means it probably is available on Netflix Instant Watch, called The Objective co-starring Jon Huertas.

This movie came out in 2008 and was pretty interesting. It was a small budget movie set in Iraq where some soldiers encounter something they were completely unprepared for. It was suspenseful and kept me interested. I was a little disappointed at where the film ended up though.

I'm sure there are better films that Huertas has been in, but this was interesting and he did have a major role in it.

Thanks,

I’m listening to your podcast and someone may have already pointed this out to you but just in case they haven’t - Regarding the hospital room situation:

I believe she was in an ICU-Recovery type ward. Most hospitals have things set up this way for ICU patients instead of a private room. Patients can be more easily monitored and can receive faster care if they take a down turn. It’s easier and quicker if the staff, equipment, and patients are all in one room. Also, I think some of the time jumps confused people. No one, not even the “extraordinary Kate Beckett,” is sitting up just hours after emergency surgery for a GSW to the chest. I’m pretty sure several days, if not a week or so, had passed when Castle received the phone call at the precinct saying Beckett was well enough to receive visitors.

Cool Castle! ;)

Lots of fun to listen to. The episode was really well done. The full cast was used well and the Captain got a nice sendoff and a nifty tie-in to the Beckett back story.

Rather wished Castle had reacted quicker and been the one to take the shot. Love the setup for next season, especially if the Captain mailed those documents to Castle. What will Castle do? Will he try to go it alone, will he keep Beckett out of the loop, or will he share the Intel with Beckett? I hope he keeps it from her.

I wanted to comment on the "Close Encounters" episode but was unable to find a place to do so. I was so blown away by this episode! It exceeded every expectation that I had (and they were pretty high). It was the most perfect, witty homage to The X-Files (a show near and dear to my heart) that I could possibly imagine. BUT my favorite moment of the episode was the "that's what she said" moment. Beckett's line (Just put it in and get it over with") coupled with the look on Castle's face was absolutely priceless. It was SO much funnier than if he had actually said the punch line. That moment was, in my opinion, the epitome of clever writing married with clever performances- the very thing that sets "Castle" apart from all other current prime-time shows.

Does anyone know the name of the song at the end of the Episode Punked? When Castle and his daughter are having tht heart to heart?

Great cast by the way, I discovered it while trying to find this song. I was hoping that it would have been featured in this episode, but I'll keep listening for sure!

John and Heidi,
I just started listening to your Castle podcast about a month ago and quickly went and downloaded the earlier pod casts and I have been enjoying all of them. I'm now all caught up and am looking forward to your take on episode 3X02. I really loved 3X03. Especially the end scene between Alexis and her dad. "Just think when you're out on the Vespa, I can drive the car." The look on Castle's face was priceless. He kind of set himself up for that one. Looking forward to Monday night's episode and your podcast.

I just started listening to your Castle podcast about a month ago and quickly went and downloaded the earlier pod casts and I have been enjoying all of them. I’m now all caught up and am looking forward to your take on episode 3X02. I really loved 3X03. Especially the end scene between Alexis and her dad. “Just think when you’re out on the Vespa, I can drive the car.” The look on Castle’s face was priceless. He kind of set himself up for that one. Looking forward to Monday night’s episode and your podcast.

I've sent along my thoughts on the season finale episode but will try to put together something on the season as a whole if I have time between now and Sunday. Happy birthday, John. Hope it's a great one.

just was listening to this episode and wanted to leave a comment about how I started watching castle. I Didn’t start watching till season 2 because I was Afraid it was going to be canceled and I heard about the “Space Cowboy” Halloween costume on slice of sci-fi and then started watching. Haven’t gone back to catch up yet – I am a bad fan.

The stupid iTunes store in Canada didn't switch over the RSS feed when this podcast move to Farpoint Media. Didn't knew there is new episodes after February 10th until search with Google on recent News on Castlecast. Arrgh!
